What you looking at? - 2014
Late 2013 and into early 2014, Breezy returned to the studio and was right back at it. This, however was not anticipated, a break had been pencilled in and to while away some of those hours a concept album "Lights Camera Action!" had been spawned!
The concept project had meant to be a getaway, in fact it had the opposite effect and with creative juices flowing, What you looking at began to take shape.
The artwork had initially been planned to use random photographs of statues and their faces. It wasn't until almost two thirds of the way through did the "optical" references start to take over. The finished design also reveals "Breezy" himself for the first time in his work.

1. Wrong for all the right reasons: Wrong for all the right reasons - named? This was always a pencilled in opening track. A quote from many a quiz show, including my own personal favourite "Pointless" I suppose this track gets it's name due to the grainy & dark pad/bass combo offset by the quirky plucky guitar that drifts in and out of the piece. Surprisingly for track 1, this has quite a long intro, which I think you'll find is quite possibly wrong for all the right reasons!
2. Decadence: What is there to say about this one that hasn't already not been said! Decadence - over the top, summer anthem, happy poppy bassline and then over-exuberance kicks in to the max with that chorus!!! Bangin!!!!
You may notice the colours used for the artwork here - they're blue & pink, very in this year, you know, yes......

3. Kickback: Kickback started it's life as something very different. The vocal was originally going to be sample of Kasabian "Can you feel it coming" from Switchblade Smiles, however this didn't happen and instead I wrote a short chorus and sang myself. My vocal was then tampered with using various techniques and also layered in parts. Yes, I know, I'm singing on this! Kickback itself has 2 meanings - see below
1. A sharp reaction; a repercussion.
2. Slang A return of a percentage of a sum of money already received, typically as a result of pressure, coercion, or a secret agreement. Oooooh!

4. Sack the juggler: Crazy crazy crazy! Euphoric and anthemic chorus, swirling synths, claps, a thumping bass and a vox bass. This probably wouldn't sound out of place on Mario Kart or something like that. Discuss......
5. A riff in time: Awww....that's better, in stark contrast to it's predecessor, this ones a lot more chilled. Hidden in here, we have a harp and an operatic vocal as well as a chugging guitar. Some sort of harpsichord and is that sleigh bells???This has been likened to a Thomsons holiday ad??? As if??? I mean, surely, ow come on people!
6. Asynchronous: In the beginning this track was inspired by the Pet Shop Boys. It was supposed to sound like "Inside a dream" from the 2013 "Electric" album. It doesn't, although that bass?? Well, I think there's a nod in the general direction. Hats off and all that!
7. Haze: This was one of the first tracks for the album, was born from messing with "Lights Camera Action" A very downtempo, chillout offering here. Melodic bass and swirling pads and synths. Nice!
8. All men must die (Valar Morghulis): 3 guesses where I got this title from? Of course as you're already aware, I'm very influenced by popular culture and "Game of thrones" is cool! So as a celebration of dance, we get back to business, with a dancefloor classic. Trancey pads fizz and swirl through the chorus on top of choppy sequencers, whilst the grainy synth thrashes about. The pulsing bass pushes the track along with a boom tiss percussion loop!! 7 hells!
9. An uncanny knack: Bouncy upbeat little number. Big hook for this one duh duh duduh duhduh, duh duh duduh duhduh! Tappy hi-hat and booming kick. Another choppy sequence and a wobble.
10. You know that feeling: So here's a song I do sing on. Oh yes, that's me! The song is about all the nice feelings and memories we all have. The ones that make us feel warm inside, you know, that feeling? It's a happy little tune and one of the tracks I'm most proud of on the album.
11. Nocturnal: So finally, as promised, Nocturnal, could easily have been on the last album "Underground" and along with Haze was formed very early in the whole album process. The sampled vocal sits with melodic dreamy synth in the chorus, whilst a nice jumpy sequence and whiny synth suggest it's late and we're all a bit tired and ready for bed.
12. I wanna love you: The final uptempo offering for this album. This one is about unrequited love. The sampled female vocal would very much like to love a person, who simply cannot love her back. Aww... sad....
Get a grip love!
There are other vocals half written for this track, but needed to be rapped, which I cannot do.................yet! Keep looking at this space.

13. Wimsy: And finally the usual sign off, a cheeky little downtempo number. Not as abstract as some of the other "last track" offerings. The track was originally drafted for a website commission I was offered. Due to complications however the music was never used on the website, so I gave it a little re-jiggle and here it is.
