THE BREEZY MUSIC STORY
It all began in 1998, where, whilst playing Sunday League Football, I did some damage to the ligaments in my right knee. This resulted in a reluctant visit to St James' hospital in Leeds, where I was issued crutches, advised to stay off work and partake in some physio.
Anticipating a period of boredom, I ventured to my local video rental shop where I was able to hire a video game for my playstation. The original playstation that is the grey one? This videogame pretty much changed my life. I was able to create music using riffs & samples on a videogame, and I loved it! Thus Breezy was born and the first album , the self-titled "Breezy" was created. The first track ever "Get with it" was created and the rest they say is history.
Inspired by the electro bands of the 1980s & 90s in no particular order - Chemical Brothers, Depeche mode, Erasure, Kraftwerk & Pet Shop Boys to name but a few, further albums followed, at a rate of pretty much one a year.
For the most part the music remained hidden, albeit to a few close friends, until around 2013, when I discovered soundcloud So I uploaded a couple of tracks, admittedly I would have liked a few more listens & likes but that didn't matter. My music was out there, people were listening to it and I didn't know these people.
At this point I was working on the 16th album "Underground" and this album would become my first album to dabble with social media. Further tracks were added to soundcloud and a video was made, a primitive video, but a video never the less and this was uploaded to the newly created "YOUTUBE" channel.
Further music distribution sites were found, Reverbnation has over 100 tracks available for streaming and downloading. Bandcamp has all the recent albums plus all the back-catalogue releases so far.
None of the tracks were actually ready for the worldwide web and were in need of re-mastering before going out into the world. I came across a company here in the North of England - trustudios who were able to help get the entire back-catalogue re mastered as well as the new stuff. This project is still a work in progress thus not all albums are available in full, however we are working on it. 12 albums are available, as well as three EP's, in full on bandcamp and eventually they WILL all be available.
So we're now 20 years on from where it all started, the important thing is I'm still very much enjoying making music and very proud to have it out there for everyone and anyone to enjoy.
I hope you've enjoyed the story so far and will keep coming back for more Breezymusic.
