DUBROVNIK EP - 2017
In the summer of 2016 an excursion to the Croatian town of Dubrovnik was undertaken. Inspired by it's history and it's beauty the "Dubrovnik ep" was born.
The EP comprises of 7 tracks ranging from the down tempo offerings of "1991" and "The rectory" to the more up-tempo "The old town" and "Almost a storm"
Artwork for the EP depicts Breezy himself looking out across the old town.
1. Where's Luca? - The opening track starts with this panic stricken screech, Where's Luca?? Pounding drums and wobbling bass enter the fray. The frantic search for Luca has begun, the gentle guitar asks the question at regular intervals "Where's Luca" Can he be found? Perhaps we'll never find out.
There was vocal, which despite several attempts never made the final track. Part of that vocal included a rap where the line "Playing snooker, drinking Sambuca is repeated. As well, there is the "Hide & seek" mix which will, I'm sure make its way onto the usual media forums in the future.

2. 1991 - Up next is 1991, a downtempo number reflecting the war that tore the former Yugoslavia apart. Dubrovnik, was bombed heavily and the some of the damage can still be seen today. The track ends with a forboding alarm signalling the horrors to come.
3. Almost a storm - Whilst sitting on the balcony, tinkering on the I-pad I noticed in the North some rather dark clouds. They appeared to be working there way down the coast to Dubrovnik and although a few large spots of rain came the dark clouds moved on out to sea. Almost a storm, in Dubrovnik at least.
This particular track reminds of early Chemical Brothers stuff - give it a listen below!

4. The mysterious island of Lokrum - Throughout the stay in Dubrovnik, from our balcony, we could see the island of Lokrum. All day long boats would too and fro from the harbour to the island. But what was on the island? Where were all these people going. Often a night mysterious lights would appear, that hadn't been there before.
We paid the island a visit and it was pretty cool. There was a museum and a café, a little jetty and some of the buildings, buildings I might add, you couldn't see from the balcony, were getting refurbishment work done. There were rumours of a nudist beach and a lot of peacocks, noisy peacocks at that.
Looking from the town, all of these mysteries were well concealed and the island itself was a very pleasant surprise.

5. Swift - Just as the sun was setting the town sky would be filled with swifts feeding on the evening bugs. Hundreds of them would swoop and glide and turn and twist in the air.
6. The Rectory - Throughout the history of Dubrovnik many of the older buildings are very much intact and can be visited by the eager tourist/sightseer. The rectory is one of those historic buildings, every time this building was damaged or destroyed each new architect would offer something different to the build, making this building a monument to time. Fire, explosions and earthquake have all helped build and build again this incredible building, which is currently part of the history museum in Dubrovnik.
The track, whilst downtempo, is about change, specifically evolution and whilst we humans have evolved over the years so has the world that surrounds us, the landscapes, the structures, everything.

7. The old town - The EP concludes with the up-tempo "The old town" A celebration of Dubrovnik itself. All the ups and downs, the upheaval and conflict. Despite all this, the town stands proud on the Adriatic coast, steeped in history and brimming with modern culture, the town itself is Awesome! So much so, I was inspired to create this collection of music.
